Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur in different parts of the country, a met office press release said on Tuesday.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country.
Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, the release added.
The low over West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay off Andhra Pradesh coast now lies over Northwest Bay off Odisha coast. It is likely to move west-northwestwards.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across southern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 34.0 degrees Celsius
jointly at Tetulia and Chauadanga and minimum temperature on Tuesday was 24.5 degrees Celsius at Sandwip.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00am yesterday was recorded
76millimeters (mm) at Sandwip.
