Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur in parts of the country, a met office said on Monday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions at a few places over Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country,” it said.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The low over West Central Bay and adjoining North West Bay off North Andhra Pradesh-South Odisha coast persist. It is likely to move in a northwesterly direction. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, the centre of the low and thence northeastward to Assam across Gengetic West Bengal and Bangladesh.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 36.0 degrees Celsius at Feni and minimum temperature on Monday was 25 degrees Celsius at Sitakunda.
Country’s maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am on Monday was jointly recorded 28 millimeters (mm) at Chattogram and Feni.
