Light to moderate rain, thundershowers likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) yesterday forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am yesterday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Chattogram and Barishal divisions in 24-hour till 9am today,” said a met office bulletin issued here yesterday morning.
Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, the bulletin added.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am yesterday was recorded 36 mm at Chattogram in Chattogram division.
Country’s maximum temperature yesterday was recorded 36.8 degrees Celsius at Dhaka in Dhaka division and minimum temperature yesterday was recorded 23.0 degrees Celsius at Rangamati in Chattogram division.
The sun sets at 6:05 pm yesterday and rises at 5:44 am today in the capital.
