Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur in several parts of the country, a met office release said yesterday.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country, it said.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Horiyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends upto North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay. Country’s maximum temperature yesterday was recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius jointly at Ishurdi and Chauadanga and minimum temperature yesterday was 24.0 degrees Celsius at Tarash.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00am yesterday was recorded 94milimeters (mm) at Netrokona.
