Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers throughout the country in the next 24 hours as of 9 am today.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country during the time,” said a met office press release issued here on Tuesday morning. Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
Another met office warning message said, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary South or South-Easterly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur in the regions of Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar till 6pm on Tuesday.
River ports are advised to hoist cautionary signal number one, it also said.
The maximum temperature was recorded 34.0 degrees Celsius on Monday at Srimangal in Sylhet division while Tuesday’s minimum temperature 24.6 degrees Celsius at Kutubdia in Chattogram division.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am on Tuesday was recorded 115 mm at Bogura in Rajshahi division, the release added.
