Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Tuesday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes over the country in 24-hour as of 9am today.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions in the next 24-hour commencing from 9am today,” said a met office press release here. It also likely to occur at many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country during the period.
Trough of westerly low extends from Bihar to North-east Bay across Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Southern part of Bangladesh, the release said, adding that southwest monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.
