Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday predicted that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind may occur at different parts of the country in 24 hours as of 9 am today.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls at different places across the country,” the met office said in a 24 hours weather forecast commencing at 9 am yesterday.
Day temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius across the country while night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it said.
The highest temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 34.7 degrees
Celsius at Sylhet and Thursday’s minimum temperature was 24 degrees Celsius at Khulna and Sitakundu.
Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am yesterday was recorded 58
millimeters (mm) at Mongla Upazila of Bagerhat District in Khulna Division.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00am on Thursday was 2
millimeters (mm) at Dhaka.
