Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) yesterday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at different places across the country in 24 hours ending at 9am today.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions,” said the met office in a 24-hour weather forecast commencing from 9am yesterday.
It also predicted moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions during the period.
Day temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country’s highest temperature on Tuesday was recorded 35.6 degrees Celsius in Sylhet and Wednesday’s minimum temperature was recorded 24.6 degrees Celsius at Gopalgonj and Khepupara in Dhaka and Barishal divisions respectively.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am on Wednesday was recorded 106mm at Mongla in Khulna.
The sunsets at 6:02 pm yesterday and rises at 5:45am today in the capital.
