Light to moderate rain likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) yesterday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am yesterday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Chattogram division and at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Barishal, and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy falls at some places over the country,” said a met office bulletin issued here yesterday.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
The highest temperature yesterday was recorded 36.6 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi in Rajshahi division while yesterday’s minimum temperature was 24.7 degrees Celsius at Kutubdia in Chattogram division.
Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am yesterday was recorded 87 millimeters (mm) at Feni in Chattogram division. The sun sets at 6:12 pm yesterday and rises at 5:42 am today in the capital.
