Light to moderate rain likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Friday forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind at many places across the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am yesterday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over southern part of the country in 24-hour till 9am today,” said a Met Office bulletin issued on Friday morning.
Besides, Day and night temperature may fall by (1-3) degrees C over the country, the bulletin added.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am yesterday was recorded 91 mm at Teknaf in Chattogram division.
Country’s maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 36.8 degrees Celsius in Sylhet and minimum temperature on Friday was 24.0 degrees Celsius at Teknaf in Chattogram division.
