Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am on Saturday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at isolated places over the country,” said a met office bulletin issued here.
Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
The highest temperature on Friday was recorded 32.2 degrees Celsius at Satkhira in Khulna divison while Saturday’s minimum temperature was 23.0 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division.
Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am yesterday was recorded 95 millimeters (mm) at Patuakhali in Barishal division.
