Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers for many parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am yesterday.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Barishal, Chattogram and Khulna divisions and at many places over Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met office bulletin on Tuesday.
“Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay,” said the bulletin.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
Country’s highest temperature on Monday was recorded 34.5 degrees Celsius at Nikli and Tuesday’s lowest temperature 24.4 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.
The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am on Tuesday was recorded 68 millimeters (mm) at Barishal.
