Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions.
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country with moderately heavy to heavy falls over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions, said a Met Office press release here on Saturday.
Day temperature may fall by (1-3) degree Celsius and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Southwest monsoon has withdrawn from Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions and the regions of Noakhali, Cumilla and Chattogram.
It persists over Cox’s Bazar region and the conditions are favourable for next withdrawal of southwest monsoon from remaining part of Bangladesh, it added.
Monsoon is active over Cox’s Bazar region and moderate over North Bay. A low pressure area is likely to form over east central Bay and adjoining area during next 24 hours.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am was 112 millimeters (mm) at M. Court.
Country’s maximum temperature on Friday was recorded by 36.1 degree Celsius at Sylhet and lowest temperature on Saturday was recorded by 16.4 degree Celsius at Tetulia.
