Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions and at many places over Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country yesterday. Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, said a met office press release on Friday.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Horiyana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh as one of its associated trough extends upto North Bay. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay. Country’s maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 32.5 degrees Celsius jointly at Ishurdi and Chuadanga and the minimum temperature on Friday 24.0 degrees Celsius jointly at Sandwip and Sitakunda. The maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am on Friday was recorded 164millimeters (mm) at Sitakunda.
