Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Sunday predicted light rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at many places over the country in the next 24-hour commencing at 9.00 on Sunday morning.
“Light rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions, at a few places over Rajshahi division and at one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions in the 24-hour till 9am on Monday,” said a met office bulletin.
Monsoon is fairly active over northern part of Bangladesh, less active over southern part and weak over North Bay, the release said.
The rainfall activity may increase for the next 72 hours beginning at 9am on Sunday, forecasted the bulletin.
Day temperature may fall by (1-2) degrees Celsius over northern part and it may fall slightly over southern part of the country while night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it said.
Country’s highest temperature on Saturday was recorded 36 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and lowest one on Sunday was 24.7 degrees Celsius at Teknaf.
The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am on Sunday was recorded 71 millimeters (mm) at Dimla in Rangpur division.
The sun sets at 6.11 pm on Sunday and rises at 5.42 am on Monday in the capital.
