Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday predicted light rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions in the next 24-hour commencing at 9.00 yesterday morning.
Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, a met office release said.
Country’s highest temperature on Friday was recorded 36 degrees Celsius at Jashore and lowest one on Saturday was 25 degrees Celsius at Teknaf.
The press release said the axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh as one of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak over North Bay.
The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am on Saturday was recorded 34 millimeters (mm) at Sylhet.
