Golap Mia, a life sentence convicted in a murder case has died in jail on Saturday night in Habiganj.
Jailer Joynal Abedin said that Golap Mia had been suffering from asphyxia and blood pressure for several days. He was taken to Sadar Modern Hospital when he fell sick on Saturday afternoon. At midnight he was in critical condition. When he was taken to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.
Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital doctor Debashish Roy said that Golap Mia died before being brought to the hospital at night.
