The district administration has revoked the licences of some 806 firearms as those were not renewed for long.
This was informed by deputy commissioner Md Shahidul Islam at a views-exchange meeting at his office on Wednesday.
“There were 3,006 licensed firearms in Sylhet. The licences of 806 firearms were cancelled on June 22 as those had not been renewed for long,” he said. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education) Mirajul Islam and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Shahidul Islam were also present at the meeting.
