Liberation War based special play Sadai Laal Rong

To pay tribute to martyrs of the war of independence, noted actor and play director Tanvir Hossain Probal has made a special play titled Sadai Laal Rong. Main theme of the story of play was also given by him. Its story was written by Sharmin Hayat Dipa.
Context of the story revolves with in the middle of September 1971. The Pakistani army established a camp at Kaiakoir village during that time. Maj Mezbaul Hasan is chief of the Pakistnai troupe. Everybody of the village except a 60-year old barber Napit Narayan and his family left the village after attacking by the Pakistani forces. The barber believed she would die on this oil. Every morning the Pak Major came to barber for saving his face. As a result, a nice relation was built up between them. Once freedom fighters offered Napit Narayan to cut major’s neck by his knife while saving but he didn’t do it. After saving paid his remuneration the major killed the barber by his revolver. With this story the play Sadai Laal Rong was made.
Veteran actor Nazmul Huda Bachchu played the role of Napit Narayan, while Shakil Ahmed acted in role of major.
While talking about the play Nazmul Huda told this correspondent, “Though I have become older but I have still fascination about acting. I have really enjoyed working in Probal’s play. There are many stories of our liberation war which are still remaining undisclosed. Story of Sadai Laal Rong is one of those.”
Shakil Ahmed said, “Earlier I acted in such type of role in play or movie. But viewers will watch something exceptional in Probal’s play. I am a person of theatre so I like to play with acting. I always get positive response from the viewers. I believe this time I will also get positive response from them.”
Director Probal informed that the play will be aired on December 16 on ATN Bangla at 8:45pm.
Meanwhile, Bachchu has recently worked with Ariful Haque in a short play in popular magazine Ittyadi under Hanif Sangket’s direction.
On the other hand, Shakil Ahmed has been acting in theatre for 25 years. After working in different theatre groups in 2009 he himself set up a new troupe named Dosh Rupok.
