At least s12 more persons were killed and 50 others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Thursday.
 In Barisal, at least three persons were killed and 10 others seriously injured when a bus crashed against a roadside tree at Baichkhola in Gournadi upazila of Barisal.
One of the deceased was identified as Liton Radri, 42, from Bamrail of the said upazila of the district, but the identity of others could not be known instantly.
Sheikh Atiar Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gournadi Police Station told media that the incident occurred around 2pm on the Dhaka-Barisal highway, while a bus heading to Barisal after picking up passengers from Mawa ferry ghat. When the bus reached Baichkhola, driver lost control over the steering and hit a tree leaving two dead on the spot. The injured were sent to local hospital.
In Rajbari, two persons died when a microbus overturned in Pangsha upazila on Thursday.
One of the deceased was identified as Ripon from Tangail district. The other couldn’t be identified immediately.
Rajbari Fire Service & Civil Defence Deputy Assistant Director Showkat Ali Jorder confirmed the matter to media.
In Faridpur, at least two persons breathed their last when a truck rammed into a human hauler in Faridpur town on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Azizul Haque, 46, Head Master of Roykali Govt Primary School, and Sujon Patwary, 25, a mason. Both of them were the passengers of human hauler. Faridpur Fire Service official M Saifuzzaman confirmed the accident.
In Nilphamari, A woman and her five-year-old daughter were killed when a truck struck a rickshaw-van carring them at Bhatiapara in Domar, Nilphamari on Wednesday night.
The deceased were Nazma Begum, 30, wife of Rubel Islam from a village in Nilphamari and her daughter Rubina Akter. The accident took place around 9:00pm.
Moksed Ali Bepari, Officer-in-Charge of Domar Police Station told it to the media.
In Dinajpur, an LGED (Local Government Engineering Department) engineer was killed when the Prado SUV he rode crashed against a roadside tree of Uchitpur area in Chirirbandar upazila in Dinajpur on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Afzalur Rahman, 59, Additional Chief Engineer of Rangpur LGED division. His driver Hafiz, 50, was also injured in the crash.
Quoting locals, Chirirbandar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Haresul told media that the incident took place at 9:15am on the Fulbari-Dinajpur highway. Afzalur Rahman was heading to Dinajpur Deputy Commissioner’s Office from Palashbari of Gaibandha. The driver of his SUV lost control over steering and crashed the vehicle against a tree leaving Afzal dead on the spot.
In Natore, at least two persons were killed in two road crashes in Baraigram upazila of Natore district.
The deceased were identified as Azimuddin, 52, and Abu Raihan, 40, from the same upazila of the district. The incident occurred at 11am on Wednesday night.
Azimuddin was killed in a road crash after motorcycle fell into the ditch at Sreekhandi village under Joradi union.
Another Awami League activist named Abu Raihan, 40, was killed in a road accident on the way back from a meeting to Makimpur of Gurdaspur upazila.
Baraigram Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Dilip Kumar Das confirmed the news to media.
In Rajshahi, at least 22 people were injured due to a head-on collision between a bus and a mini truck at Kamarpara in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi on Thursday morning.
Godagari Model Police Station SI Sihabul Islam said that the Rajshahi-bound bus collided head-on with the Chapainawabganj-bound mini truck in the area. The truck turned turtle on the roadside.
