LGED awards 9 women for self-reliance

Nine women were awarded as recognition to their tireless efforts to make themselves self-reliant through self-employment ventures.
The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) gave the awards to the women on Thursday marking the International Women’s Day.
LGD Secretary Abdul Malek handed over the awards for their outstanding contributions to rural and urban development and water resources development, said an official release here.
LGED Gender and Development Forum President (Additional Chief Khalilur Rahman gave the welcome address with LGED Chief Engineer Md Abul Kalam Azad in the chair. Executive Engineer Syeda Asma Khatun presented the key-note paper at the function.
The awardees are-Lalita Roy of Tahirpur upazila of Sunamganj district, Mariam Begum of Panchagar Sadar upazila, Kudbanu of Biayni Bazar upazila of Sylhet district, Beauty Akthar of Bandarban Sadar Pourasava, Taznahar Akthar of Laksam upazila of Comilla, Lucky Khatun of Nageshwari Poursava of Kurigram, Nusrat Begum Swapna of Sunamganj Sadar upazila, Rozina Akther of Fulpur Upazila of Mymensing district and Karfuneccha of Baniachong upazila of Habiganj district.
