LG Electronics Bangladesh, the multinational Korean electronics company has provided `LG Ambassador Grants’ to five social welfare initiatives run by youth in different areas of the country. They were also awarded as ‘LG Ambassador 2018’ for the willingness and hard work to realize their dreams of making a positive contribution to the society, said a press release.
The grants and recognition were made given at an event held on Tuesday at Best Western La Vinci Hotel in city’s Karwan Bazar area.
The awardees and the their organizations are- Asikuzzaman of Initiative for Coastal Development (ICD) in Koyra, Khulna; Tausif Ahmed of Amra Benapoler Basinda in Sharsha, Jessore; Asaduzzaman Bhuiyan of Batch 97 in Nabinagar, B.baria; Erfan Haque of TDC Shiksha Shohayota in Dhaka and Abdullah Al Mozahid of Asaduddin Smrity Biggyan Club in Parbatipur, Dinajpur.
181 project proposals have been submitted from October to November, 2018 through a campaign conducted on “LG Bangladesh” Facebook page. The awardees were selected from those proposals by considering sustainability of the projects.
Good Neighbors Bangladesh, an NGO, will play as implementing and monitoring partner of the projects.
Many young people want to work to solve different types of problems existed in their societies at different corners of the country. They took many initiatives and struggled hard to eradicate social problem.
