Mirana Sultana (40) an Indian disabled Bangladeshi woman has been jailed for 2 and half years in the Court of A.C.J.M-4, Dist. Mathura D.P. India.
She was trafficked to India from Bangladesh. A case was lodged against Mirana Sultana that she was found without having a valid Travel documents by Highway police under PS Mathura. Her brother Syed Omor Ali lodged a general diary in Daulatpur Thana, (KMP, Khulna No. 1204) on 25.04.2018.
Mirana Sultana was missing from 05.04.2018. A telephone call came to her brother Syed Omor Ali from Delhi demanding 5 lakh taka and the caller assured that if the payment is made she would be allowed to return to Bangladesh. The unidentified telephone caller told him that Mirana is in Mathura Jail. Her brother contracted with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry took steps to bring her back to Bangladesh.
A few months passed for letter correspondence between Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Home Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. They extended cooperation Mr. Omor Ali and he went to Delhi for bringing back his disabled sister Mirana. After reaching Delhi he contracted the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi and they also helped him a lot. In a letter (No. BHCICons-2(2)/2018;1990). The Bangladesh High Commission requested the Ministry of External Affairs of India to instruct to the concerned authority to complete the Judicial process and start repatriation process as soon as possible on humanitarian ground.
They also issued a travel permit for Mirana Sultana which was valid for 3 months on 14 December 2018 ( No. BHCICons-2(2)/2018/1025). But mathura judicial magistrate. Amit Kumar Tiwari did not show any sympathy to disabled Mirana Sultana. She is now reportedly seriously ill in Indian Jail.
It is learnt that Mirana Sultana was trafficked to India from Bangladesh by gang including Roksona.
It is noted that Mathura Highway Police arrested 24 Bangladeshis and among them accused who is in Mathura jail now. .
An innocent and mentally disabled woman Mirana Sultana (ID No.l978479106005789-03) has been suffering in the jail without committing any offence.
