Sports Reporter :
Bangladesh failed to show satisfactory performance in the Test series and ODI series against South Africa (SA) recently. If condition doesn’t act in favour of Bangladesh, the Tigers cannot perform well. Dashing Opener Tamim Iqbal is worried about that matter.
Tamim Iqbal returned home as he got injury in his thigh. The left-hand batsman will not take part in the two-match Twenty20 series against the Proteas.
Tamim said, ” I have to take rest at least two weeks. I cannot play two matches in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).”
He said, ” I give most emphasis to national team. Before becoming totally fit, I shall not play in BPL. BPL is important for us. But I give most priority to national team. Our next mission is Sri Lanka series from the last week of December. I shall take time to be totally fit to participate in that series.”
The opener said, ” If we forget our bitter experience in South Africa, we cannot improve our performance. We have to find out our lacking. Then we shall go forward according to our plan. We know that the World Cup 2019 will be held in England. It will be tough task for us to perform well in that condition. We faced debacle in South Africa. We have to come out from those mistakes, which we did there. If we can take lessons from experience of South Africa, we shall perform well in the ensuing World Cup.”
