Legislators review progress of Hajj policy

At the third meeting of the Standing Committee for Religious Affairs of 10th parliament, Hajj policy came up for threadbare discussion.
It was observed that proper management of the pilgrims was of crucial importance to the government and the country. Therefore thorough monitoring by the ministry was necessary and if required, the aid of the parliamentary committee members, could also be sought.
All members of the committee including Shadhan Chandra Majumdar, A K M Awal (Sayeedur Rahman), Abu Reza Mohammad Nezamuddin, Syed Najibul Boshor Maijbhandari, Md Mokbul Hossain, Mohammad Amir Hossain and Dilara Begum were present at the meeting.
The minister for religious affairs, Principal Matiur Rahman, also participated in the meeting as a special guest. A report on the progress of the decisions taken in the last standing committee meeting was also reviewed.
Islamic Foundation also came up for discussion and it was decided that the ministry should examine ways and means to bring dynamism to the organization.
