Legends of Rupganj beat Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity by two wickets in their match of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Wednesday.
Chasing Khelaghar’s total of 198 off 48 overs, Rupganj reached the winning spot making 199 for the loss of eight wickets when they had just three balls to spare.
One-down Amit Majumder of Khelaghar notched up a sparkle 59. His 88-ball innings was laced with eight fours.
Opener Hasanuzzaman hit a polished 29. His 22-ball knock was studded with three fours and two sixes.
Nadif Chowdhury and Masum Khan added 25 and 24 runs respectively to the Khelaghar total.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza of Rupganj Tigers captured four wickets in the space of 38 runs. Mashrafe was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance.
Chirag Jani grabbed three wickets at the cost of 51 runs.
Naeem Islam, Nabil Samad and Al-Amin Hossain took one wicket each for 25, 29 and 33 runs respectively.
Later, One-down Chirag Jani hit a superb 72. His 78-ball innings was belted with seven fours and two sixes.
Number-7 batter Tanbir Hayder remained unbeaten with 51 runs. He hit two fours in his 61-ball innings.
Second-down Naeem Islam added 24 runs to the Legends of Rupganj total.
Salmon Hossain of Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity grabbed three wickets instead of 45 runs, while Masum Khan bagged two wickets at the cost of 26 runs.
Elias Sunny and Tipu Sultan took one wicket each conceding 32 runs each.
