Legal steps to follow if MP Liton doesn`t surrender: Asad

UNB, Dhaka :Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Thursday said Manjurul Islam Liton, an MP from Gaibandha-1 constituency, has been given time to surrender in connection with the shooting of a minor boy.”If he doesn’t surrender, then legal steps will be taken against him,” he said while talking to reporters at his ministry after a meeting with officials of law-enforcement agencies on narcotics control.The minister further said, “We hope he’ll surrender to court and we’ re also trying to find him out.”Stray bullets from the pistol of MP Manjurul Islam Liton struck eight-year-old boy Sourav when Liton was going to his Bamondanga village home in his own car in the early morning on October 2, leaving the boy injured.On October 3, victim’s father Saju Miah filed a case with Sundarganj Police Station against Liton. Responding to a question over the abduction of two tourists and their guides at Sepupara in Bilaichhari upazila of Rangamati district on Sunday, he said law enforcers are trying to rescue the victims.
