Legal process begins to bring back Noor Hossain: IGP

Inspector General of Police Hassan Mahmud Khandaker on Saturday said the legal process had started to bring back prime suspect of Narayanganj seven-murder Noor Hossain and his aides from India under the extradition treaty.
“Investigation into the seven murder case is a judicial process. The giving of its details is not possible. Whatever we have done in this regard is transparent and there is no lack of sincerity. Truth will be come out soon,” he said while talking to reporters.
The IGP said it while the inaugurating IP [internet protocol] cameras at Kanchpur and Bhulta. Four IP cameras have been installed at the two points on the Dhaka-Chittagong and the Dhaka-Sylhet Highways to provide security to highway users.
Asked about the procedures to bring back the arrested accused from India, he said: “It will be arranged under the prisoner exchange treaty between the two countries… as there are some formalities, it may take some time.”
Among others, Narayanganj-5 constituency MP Selim Osman, Deputy Inspector General of Police [DIG] of Dhaka Range, Mahfuzul Haque Nuruzzaman, DIG [Operation] Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, DIG [Highway Police] Asaduzzaman Mia,  
Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Anisur Rahman, and Narayanganj Police Super Dr. Khandoker Mohiuddin, were present on the occasion.
Senior police officials hoped that the ambiguity surrounding the Narayanganj seven-murder will be cleared after Nur Hossain is brought back.
They have also affirmed that the government would not spare the real culprits in connection with the murder.
Noor Hossain, a Narayanganj city Awami League leader and also a councillor, and some of his accomplice have remained absconding following the abduction and killing of Narayanganj city panel Mayor Nazrul Islam, lawyer Chandan Sarker and five others.
He along with accomplices is now in a Kolkata jail being captured by Bidhan Nagar police from a flat near Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport on June 14 late night.
He has already been produced in a court in West Bengal’s North 24-Parganas district and police had sought his remand to facilitate interrogation in connection with the seven-murder.
On April 27, Narayanganj panel Mayor Nazrul Islam, his three associates and driver were abducted by miscreants from Fatullah area of Narayanganj. Hours after their abduction, senior lawyer of district Judge’s Court Chandan Kumar Sarker and his driver were also abducted on their way to capital Dhaka.
Three days into their abduction, the bodies of six people, including that of Nazrul and Chandan Kumar, were recovered from the Shitalakhya River on April 30. The following day, the body of Jahangir, car driver of Nazrul Islam, was recovered from the river.
