The Election Commission (EC) has been served with a legal notice asking to revoke the candidacy of BNP’s Dhaka North Mayor candidate Tabith Awal.
Former Supreme Court Judge Shamsuddin Choudhury has served the notice accusing BNP’s mayor candidate Tabith of concealing wealth information in his affidavit filed with the returning officer.
Justice Choudhury handed over the notice to Election Commissioner Rafiqul Islam on Thursday (January 23) at commission’s office in Dhaka.
“Tabith Awal is one of the three shareholders of Singapore-based MFM Company with his two
siblings,” he told the media.”Tabith hasn’t denied the matter when asked by the media.”
The former Supreme Court judge said that he would move the High Court if the legal notice failed to fetch a response.
