A supreme court lawyer has served a legal notice, seeking ABM Altaf Hossain’s permanent appointment as a High Court judge.
The notice by Md Idrisur Rahman was sent to the secretaries of law ministry, president and prime minister’s secretariat, and the Supreme Court registrar on Sunday.
Hossain was among six appointed as High Court judges in June, 2012. All, except him, were made permanent in June this year.
Rahman wants that Hossain be made permanent within 72 hours of getting the notice and the appointment given effect from the day the other five were regularised.
