Legal action to be taken for charging extra-money from SSC candidates

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Iqbal Mahmud said legal action would be taken against the educational institutions which are found guilty for charging extra-money from SSC candidates for form filing.
“The educational institutions have been asked to return extra money to the SSC candidates. Otherwise, stern action will be taken against these schools,” he made these comments on Thursday while visiting the ‘honesty corner’ at Bangladesh National Commission for UNESCO at Bangladesh Bureau of Educational Information and Statistics (BANBEIS) here.
Secretary of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Division Md Sohrab Hossain, Deputy Secretary General of Bangladesh National Commission for UNESCO Md Manzur Hossain and officials concerned, among others, were present on the occasion.
The ACC Chairman said the Education Ministry is working sincerely for implementation of the recommendations sent by the ACC. There is no alternative to developing human resources for ensuring sustainable development in the country, he said adding, “We have to focus on quality of education to create skilled workforce.”
