UNB, Dhaka :
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said it will be logical to bring BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia under the ambit of law on criminal solicitation charges for giving instruction to kill around 40 people during the ongoing blockade.
“This will be logical to bring her under the purview of law as an accused for giving instruction for killing…the law will take its own course. The law enforcement agencies will look into the matter…they’ ll take action,” she said.
The Prime Minister came up with the remark while responding to a question from Awami League MP ABM Tajul Islam during PM’s question-answer session in Parliament.
Hasina said Khaleda Zia is giving instructions from her political office and people are being killed as per her orders.
During the last election, the Prime Minister said, the BNP-led alliance unleashed a reign of terror in the country by killing people with petrol bombs.
But, Hasina said, after the election the situation improved a lot and the country was moving fast. “It’s very much unfortunate when the country’s image was improving and people were passing their days in peace, BNP leader Khaleda Zia again started killing people without any issue.”
The Prime Minister said the activists of 20-party alliance are now killing people with petrol bombs. “Islam doesn’t permit such activities,” she told the House adding, “Khaleda Zia is now staying in her office instead of her residence and giving orders to kill people.”
Hasina questioned, “Why she is killing people, attacking innocent people, carrying out such destructive activities, these are the burning questions.”
Replying to a starred question from Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury (Chittagong-16), the Prime Minister said BNP-Jamaat is trying to create anarchy and carrying out destructive activities in the country being scared at the development activities of her government.
“BNP-Jamaat is hurling petrol bombs and setting fire to passenger buses. These heinous activities of BNP-Jamaat suppressed the heinous activities of Pakistani occupational forces in 1971,” she said.
