A three-day ‘Leathertech Bangladesh-2015’ began on Thursday in the city to display leather related technology including machinery, chemical and accessories.
The third edition of the show takes place at Bashundhara Convention Center in the city organised by ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd.
Industry Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan inaugurates the event as chief guest.
More than 140 companies from 13 countries including China, Turkey, Japan and Hong Kong will display their products in 170 stalls and pavilions to Showcase Leather and Footwear Machinery and Components, Dyes and Chemicals, Accessories And Allied Products at the international event.
Several organizations like – leather goods & Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB), Bangladesh Finished Leather, Leather goods & Footwear Exporter Association (BFLLFEA), Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTA), Bangladesh Paduka Prostutkarak Samity (BPPS), Centre of Excellence for leather Skill Bangladesh Ltd (COEL), Council for Leather Exports (CLE) and Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA) have been giving their best support to make the program successful.
Mosharraf Hossain said leather industry can play a vital role in making the countrys export earning vibrant by producing diversified products and catching new export destinations.
He said leather sector is one of the thriving sectors of the country to contribute to the economy. It has a huge potential to earn foreign exchange in large volume.
“This is the largest leather show in the country that will showcase machinery, chemicals, accessories and other components related to leather industry and finished products,” Director of the organising company Nanda Gopal said.
The fair will remain open for all from 9:00am to 7:00pm every day.
