LDA wants new polls schedule

Left Democratic Alliance (LDA) on Saturday demanded new schedule of the next national polls by 24-hours after rejecting the announced one.
Leaders of the LDA demanded it from a rally in front of the National Press Club in the capital. LDA Coordinator and General Secretary of the Revolutionary Workers Party Saiful Huq said that the Election Commission on Thursday announced the schedule of the election unilaterally and hurriedly.
“The political parties will not get lime to complete procedures of selecting their party candidates to contest the polls under this schedule,” Saiful Huq said.
He said, “We want fresh schedule within 24 hours. Otherwise Left Democratic Alliance will announce march towards the Election Commission.”
Communist Party of Bangladesh Presidium Member Shazzad Zahir Chandan, central leader Kafee Ratan, Socialist Party of Bangladesh central leader Bazlur Rashid Firoj, Ganasanghati Andolan Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki, United Communist League of Bangladesh General Secretary Mosharraf Hossain Nannu, among others, spoke at the rally. The rally was followed by a procession that paraded adjacent streets.
