Many believe this is the best ever chance for India to record a rare and never-seen-before Test series vicory over Australia Down Under. And the belief has just got a new boost with VVS Laxman also predicting India as the potential winners.
According to the former India batsman, who has some great achievements over the Aussies, has delivered his opinion that this time around Virat Kohli’s men will end up on the winning side.
Laxman also ruled out any possibilities of matches getting drawn, as he feels it is difficult to make a draw in Australian conditions. He further added that India will go into the series as favourites not because of the absence of Steve Smith and David Warner, but because they now have quality players in their squad to do it. “There will be no possibilities of drawing as its difficult to make a draw in Australian conditions. India will not get an opportunity to make it happen not because Steven Smith and David Warner is not playing in the Australian team. India has quality players to achieve it. Lets hope, they fulfil my prediction as because India has talent, potential and they should play according to it.”
Laxman’s most famous innings of 281 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata came against Australia in the famous 2001 Test. Besides that, he also has four hundreds on the Australian soil in three tours along with two double tons at home.
The four-match Test series between India and Australia, better known as the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, will kick off on December 6 in Adelaide. The two teams are currently involved in a three-match T20I series, which the hosts lead 1-0 after two matches.
