Lawyers for Barrister Mainul’s release

The Supreme Court lawyers’ brought out a procession within the campus of the apex court as former Caretaker Government adviser and former President of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Barrister Mainul Hosein was arrested on October 21 (Night) and he was sent to the jail rejecting his bail on Tuesday.
Their procession consisting of more than one hundred lawyers moved through Majar Gate, Kadam Foara and Matsha Baban yesterday. On the occasion, former Minister advocates Netai Roy Chowdhury, Rafiqul Islam Talukder, Kazi Kamrul Islam Sajal, Mirja Al-Mahmud, Mohammad Ali and others addressed the gathering. They demanded the immediate release of senior advocate Barrister Mainul Hosein. They warned, otherwise, they would go for greater programme for the release of Barrister Mainul.
Meanwhile, the lawyers of the lower court protested the rejection of the bail plea and also agitated there pretesting the arrest and rejection of bail plea.
Earlier, after one o’clock, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Kaisarul Islam of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka sent Barrister Mainul Hosein to the jail in a case filed in Rangpur.
Earlier, he was taken to Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan court from DB office. Later, the detectives produced him before the court around 1:00pm.
On Monday night, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Barrister Mainul Hosein from the residence of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD-Rab) President ASM Abdul Rab.
Mahbub Alam, a joint commissioner at Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch said Mainul Hosein was shown arrest in cases filed in Rangpur and Brahmanbaria.
