Police detained an advocate for his alleged support for Jamaat-Shibir men in committing anarchic and subversive activities on Saturday night.
On a tip-off, a police team carried out a sudden raid in Chhotobangram area under Boalia Police Station in the city and arrested Advocate Ahammadur Rahman alias Roman, 42, around 9.30 pm.
Alamgir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Boalia Police Station, told journalists that Advocate Roman had long been assisting the Jamaat-Shibir outfits both financially and professionally. He was also accused of a case relating to cocktail blast and vandalizing some vehicles and shops in front of Shahmukhdum Police Station in the city on February 15, 2013, the OC added.
