A lawyer of Gazipur Judge Court reportedly committed suicide at his Uttara residence in the city on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Advocate Gazi Azaharul Islam, 50, a resident of Road No-3 of Uttara Sector 13 under Uttara West police station.
Contacted, Inspector (Investigation) of Uttara West police Station Biplob Kumar Shill said family members of Advocate Azaharul Islam rescued him from hanging from the ceiling of a room at about 8:30 am and rushed him to a local hospital.
He was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 12:45 pm.
Advocate Gazi Azharul Islam committed suicide due to family fued, Inspector Biplob said quoting family members of the deceased. The body was sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy.
