Law and Justice Division Secretary Md Golam Sarwar on Friday paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
Sarwar reached Tungipara by road around 12.20 pm and placed wreaths at the mausoleum of Bangabandhu. He stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.
Gopalganj District and Sessions Judge Amit Kumar Dey, Deputy Commissioner Shahida Sultana and Law and Justice Division Deputy Secretary Dr Sheikh Golam Mahbub, were present, among others, on the occasion.
They offered fateha and joined a special munajat seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his martyred family members.
Later, the law secretary signed the visitor’s book kept on the mausoleum premises.
Md Golam Sarwar joined as full secretary at Law and Justice Division on July 28.
