The stealing gangs who steal by cutting grilles of different houses are active again in Khulna city. Besides, overall situation of Law and order has deteriorated in Khulna region. Drug peddling, stealing, and eve-teasing have been increasing in Khulna city and at Nine upazila areas of Khulna district. School and college going girls are in fear of molesting by some stalkers who often gossip, tease girls, even some girl-students can not go to their educational institutions due to teasing by the desperate stalkers. Drug trading, stealing, and stalking are common features of Khulna region. Common people are always in fear for the repeated stealing at different parts of Khulna city.
Stealing by cutting grilles are alarmingly being increased at Daulatpur Pabla area in the city. Recently, thieves stole valuables from the residence of one Asmaul Husna , daughter of Md. Monir Sayeed (who is in the profession of Life Insurance Company) from Pabla Sharif Amzad Hossain road who Asmaul Husna went to her uncle’s house and taking this opportunity thieves stole valuable furniture and ornaments. A General Diary (GD) was lodged with Daulatpur police station in this connection. OC Investigation Md. Mosharaf Hossain said, after being informed the occurrence, police rushed to the spot and visited the residence of Asmaul Husna. Attempt for arresting the thieves are going on, he added. Besides, thieves stole a valuable LED Television from a police officer from Pabla Shobuj Shangha area at around 8.30 pm on Tuesday, local people said. Within the difference of four days, members of grill cutting gangs stole from four houses of Pabla area under Daulatpur police station of KMP and as such the common people are in great fear.
Members of Law Enforcing agencies cannot take any action against the culprits because the victimized persons dare not to give complain specifically to the law enforcers in fear of threat by ferocious extortionists, stalkers, drug traders and some marked terrorists, sources said.
It is alleged that some retired police officials’ sons are disturbing the common people in many ways and at the same time they have also been committing different type of evil deeds including drug peddling, stealing, harassing girls and women. Some of these Romeos have been driving motorbikes which have no legal papers and driving licenses.
On condition of anonymity, a guardian of Daulatpur Pabla area said, My daughter has stopped to go to School in fear of teasing by some stalkers.
Recently, some thieves entered at a house of Pabla area at dead night, but when the residents awake, they fled away. Stealing mobile phones and other things are common phenomenon at all areas in Khulna city and also at nine upazila areas of the district.
It is alleged that different type of drugs are being sold at different places in the city. According to sources, more than at 500 spots at different places under eight police stations in Khulna city, different type of drugs including Yaba and Ganja(Hemp) and are being sold and purchased without any obstruction. Besides, at different places of nine upazila areas in the district, drug peddling is going on unabated. The nine upazilas of Khulna district are- Digholia, Phultala, Dumuria, Terokhada, Rupsha, Batiaghata, Koyra, Dakop and Paikgachha upazila.
On the other hand, the eight police stations under Khulna city are- Khulna Kotwali, Sonadanga, Horintana, Labonchara, Arongghata, Khanjahan Ali, Daulatpur and Khalishpur police stations.
