Awami League Advisory Council member and Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu said the law enforcing agencies will not sit idle if killing, arson and anarchy are carried out in the name of movement.”The assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the fateful night of August 15 in 1975 was not a family murder, rather it was a planned murder under local and international conspiracies,” he said.
Amir Hossain Amu said this on Wednesday while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion in the city.
Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ) organised the discussion at the Arts Gallery of Shilpakala Academy in the capital marking the National Mourning Day.
BSJ president Advocate Tarana Halim, MP, chaired the discussion, also addressed, among others, by Jote leaders ATM Shamsuzzaman, SM Mohsin, Poet Rabindra Gope, Mobarak Ali Shikdar, Arun Sarker Rana and a popular vocalist of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendro Monoranjan Ghoshal. Amir Hossain Amu said, “Khondker Mostaque Ahmed and Ziaur Rahman wanted Bangladesh’s confederation with Pakistan. But, their day dream to transform Bangladesh into a neo-Pakistan did not come into reality.” Informing his audience that an initiative is on to bring back home the fugitive killers of Bangabandhu, the minister expressed his optimism in this regard.
The senior Awami League leader said, “The character of Jamaat has not changed and the organisation forming an alliance with BNP wants to transform Bangladesh into a state of militants and communal forces.”
