Law enforcers start drive in search of killers, illegal arms ahead of National Polls

In order to avert any untoward incident centering the forthcoming national parliamentary election, law enforcers including members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) and policemen of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) and also the district police of Khulna have started operation.
 Southern part of the country is called crime -prone zone. At different times several persons including different political party men, businessmen, public representatives and journalists were killed in the hands of hired killers and marked murderers and illegal arms bearers. of curse the law enforcers arrested many of these culprits. The vigilance has been increased following the 11th parliamentary national election.
According to reports of different intelligence branches including DB, CID, CSB and DSB, most of the hired killers and illegal arms bears are listed criminals of banned extremist party Jonojuddhya who are absconding.
Khulna district police and KMP sources said, law enforcers have already started tongs drives against the murderers and illegal arms bearer. At least 5 to 6 murder cases are pending against them.
Recently a listed accused Mirajul Islam Marf alias Goru Maruf son of Abudul Gaffar of village Deara in Digholia Upazila of Khulna district were killed at around 9.30 pm on November 20,2018 at Kartikkul area adjacent of Boubazer Balur Math (Field of Sand) . Under Daulatpur Police station in the incident of a gun battle occurred between two groups of terrorists while a pipe gun, a revolver and 58 pieces of yaba tablets were recovered by the police. Maruf was wanted in manifold cases including Hozi Shahid murder of Daulatpur and formen UP Chairmen of Senhati in Digholia Upazila Gazi Abdul Halim murder and extortions cases. Hazi Mostak Ahmed, officer in charge of Daulatpur Police station ascertained this matter to the journalists. besides, names of some hired killers are also available in this life who are always on the hiding. some regional leaders of banned extremist party PBCP (M-L) have also been conduction their evil deeds including murder and realization of extortion through their representatives. Recently two Traders were attacked by the extortions as they denied to pay extortions. on May 25, 2017
In the late two eras, more than 50 persons including journalists and political leaders were killed. Most of the killings were occurred due to political revenge. But the godfathers who instigated these killings are yet to be untouched. This is nothing but failure of the members of law enforcers, experts think.
Sources said, most of these killings were occurred by outlaw members, hired killers and different political parties’ cadres, but due to mysterious reason, the godfathers (“Big-shots”) have not yet been arrested by the members of law enforcers.
At least 15 journalists were killed in the last two eras. Journalist Harunur Rashid Khokon, crime reporter of a local Bangla daily Purbanchal published from Khulna was killed on March2, 2002, Journalist Humayun Kabir Balu, editor of a local Bangla daily Janmobhumi, former President of Khulna Press Club and also an eminent journalist of south-western region, was killed brutally at his residence for bomb attack by the miscreants on June 14, 2006, Journalist Manik Saha, former Khulna Correspondent of Bangla daily Sangbad and BBC Radio was killed at Khulna Press Club Premises on January 25, 2006. Besides, some other journalists of Khulna named Belal Ahmed, Nahar Ali and others were also killed by the miscreants.
Advocate Monjurul Imam, a prominent lawyer of Khulna Bar Association and also a former Awami League leader and his assistant lawyer Bijon Bihari Mondol were killed brutally on August 25, 2003. CPB leader Comrade Ratan Sen was killed on July 31, 1992 in front of Khulna DC office and also the office of the then Police Superintendent (SP). Awami Jubo League leader Shahid Iqbal Bithar was killed on July 11, 2009.Jatyo Party leader Sardar Saleh Ahmed was killed on November 11, 1998. At least half a dozen Public Representatives were also killed in the last two eras in Khulna.
