Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs at a meeting here asked law-enforcement agencies to maintain normalcy in the CHT areas.
The committee also requested all political parties to help maintain peaceful atmosphere in the CHT region.
The committee made the call at its 21st meeting held on Monday at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury in the chair.
Committee members state minister for CHT affairs Bir Bahadur, Ushaton Talukder and M A Awal attended it.
The committee expressed its gratitude for nationalizing of 210 private primary schools in the CHT region.
It also recommended for forming provident fund and ensuring retirement facilities for the officials and employees of CHT Development Board in line with the cabinet decision of 2014.
