State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian, MP, asked law enforcement agencies to combat drug trading and selling to ensure brighten future of our next generation.
“Drugs are spreading in the society like deadly disease cancer. All out efforts especially social movement can develop situation side by side guardians awareness also can eradicate the social curse from the society,” she said on Wednesday in a monthly law and order committee meeting at the deputy commissioner’s conference room in Khulna as the chief guest.
Terming zero tolerance policy against drug abuse announced by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the state minister said all government achievement will be discarding without implement of Premier policy, reports BSS.
She requested leaders and activists of Awami League and its front organisations to remain alert against intruder inside the party, saying that government achievement side by side image will become destroy causing so called intruder inside the party.
Parliament member of Khulna-6 constituency Akteruzzaman Babu lauding over the law and order situation, saying police-public joint effort can control drug abuse from the society.
Superintendent of Police Md Mahbub Hasan said Police is working reletensely to control drugs abuse.
He also urged citizen to help law enforcement agencies giving authentic information about drugs smugglers, traders, saying identity of the informer would not be disclosed publicly.
Civil Surgeon Dr Sujat Ahmed informed that coronavirus patients are increasing day by day and percentage of coronavirus detection is now 11.50%, saying cent percent people has taken first and second doses of inclusion but 27 percent people has taken buster dose in the city and district.
Chaired by Khulna deputy commissioner Md Moniruzzaman Talukder, the meeting also addressed, among others, by administrator of Khulna Zila Parishad Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, president of Khulna Lawyers Association advocate Saiful Islam, Khulna Press Club president S M Nazrul Islam, additional deputy commissioner of KMP Sonali Sen, upazila chairmen, UNOs and government officials.
Additional District Magistrate Pulak Kumar Mondal read out the resolution of the monthly law meeting of June, saying law and order situation is improved and cases were reduced except drug related at all city and district police stations compare to last month of May.
Later, the minister distributed cheques of Bangladesh Sramik Kallyan Foundation amounting Taka 60.50 lakh among 131 destitute, disable labourers and workers of different government and non-government organizations.
