Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI) of Daffodil International University and The Foundation of Chartered Taxation of Bangladesh (FCTB) are jointly going to be introduced ‘Undergraduate Certificate in Tax Management’ course for undergraduate students of Bangladesh. A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the two organizations in this regard today on 9 August, 2020at 71 Milonayoton of DIU. Prof. Dr. S M Mahbub-Ul-Haque Majumder, Acting Vice-Chancellor of DIU and Muzaffar Ahmed, President of FCTB signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. Professor Dr. Mohammad Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business & Entrepreneurship, DIU, Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director of Student Affairs, DIU, Mr. Ejaz-Ur-Rahman, Deputy Director of HRDI, Abdul Mannan Sikder, Member of NBR and Founder Adviser, Mohidul Islam, Joint Commissioner of NBR and Adviser of FCTB, Zahurul Islam, Chartered Accountant, Founder Member of FCTB and Advocate Alhaj Harun-Ur-Rashid Farid, Advocate Supreme Court of Bangladesh and Founder Member of FCTB and other high officials of both the organizations were present.
Under the MoU, students who have passed HSC and equivalent examinations can be admitted in this course. The duration of the course will be three months. Classes are expected to start on September 15.
The two institutes think that it will be possible to create skilled manpower in the sectors of income tax, VAT, customs etc. through this course. Tax awareness will be increased among the people. In addition, a large number of jobs in the revenue and customs department will create and reduce unemployment among the younger generation.
The Foundation of Chartered Taxation of Bangladesh (FCTB) will conduct a career-oriented specialized professional certificate program designed by HRDI of DIU to blend academic knowledge and practical skills of existing and prospective high caliber Taxation professionals of the country. This program is designed to benefit not only Taxation professionals, but for all professionals and entrepreneurs as all have a vital role of Tax Management in practical profession.
