Latif- backed panel unofficially elected in Ctg Chamber

All kinds of commotion, rumors and tense situation over the election of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry ended on Thursday following the submission of 25 nomination papers against the 24 office bearers.
 Out of 24 directors in four categories, 25 nomination papers of one panel backed by former CCCI President and lawmaker MA Latif MP were submitted the election committee and out of total nomination papers, one nomination paper declared cancelled during scrutiny of the nominations, a CCCI sources said. Earlier a number of panels contested in these posts but this time it is the rare example of one panel. Therefore, 24 nomination papers declared unofficially election, election committee sources said. The biennial election of CCCI was s cheduled on March 5 next but now the final nominees of the election will be declared as elected on schedule date of the election. Chamber Presidium will be formed through electing the President , senior vice president and vice president out of the 24 elected Directors. The present President, Sr.vice president and vice president now in the elected list and it is assumed that they will hold the present posts of the presidium , conscious circles observed. Election committee sourcessaid 8 directors of the present committee of CCCI have been eliminated as they did not submitted nomination papers. The eliminated directors are – former president Morshed Murad Ibrahim, MA Salam, Mahfuzur Rahaman, MorshedArif chowdhury, Syed SagirAhmed, Md.Jahangir, Md.Morshed, and Belal Ahmed.
