‘Last 4-party govt can’t evade Aug 21 grenade attack responsibility’

Law Minister Anisul Haq said the last four-party alliance government cannot evade the responsibility of August 21 grenade attack in 2014.
He said this on Saturday while talking to journalists after inauguration of a two-day regional conference of Asian Society of International Law Forum at a city hotel.
The minister said the Prime Minister’s remarks over Zia family’s involvement in August 21 grenade attack would not have influence on the trial process.
The role of the then four-party alliance government after August 21, 2004 grenade attack was doubtful, he said and referred to involvement of Tarique Rahman with the incident.
Asked about the Prime Minister’s remarks, the law minister said whatever she said is about the intensity of the incident.
The August 21 happening was not a mere accident but an incident of killing. It was carried out in a planned way, he said, adding that the plot was to kill Sheikh Hasina in the attack that left 24 people dead.
Presided over by of Asian Society of International Law Forum former President Prof Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, the inaugural function was also addressed by eminent jurist Dr. Kamal Hossain and Prof. Dr. Borhan Uddin Khan, among others.
