Language Movement hero Rawshan Ara Bachchu passed away at a city hospital on Tuesday due to old-age complications. She was 87.
She breathed her last at the Apollo Hospitals Dhaka around 11:30am, said its duty manager.
Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid expressed deep shock at the demise of the Language Movement hero.
In a condolence message, he said the nation will always remember her contributions to the Language Movement with deep respect.
The President prayed for salvation of the departed soul and expressed his sympathy to the bereaved family members.
