A land trader was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants on the Chakrabarti border in Ashulia Police Station under Savar upazila of Dhaka district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Nizamuddin, son of Nazar Ali from Ashulia, police said.
Quoting the locals, Officer-in-Charge Badrul Alam of Ashulia Police Station said that the local people first found the blood-ridden body of Nizam Uddin and informed Ashulia Thana. Police recovered the body and sent it to Gazipur Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
There were several injury marks in the neck and the head of the deceased, said the OC.
Police suspected that Nizam Uddin might have been killed over land dispute.
