The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday caught a surveyor of Nandigram upazila assistant commissioner’s (Land) office, Bogra red-handed while taking bribe.
ACC sources said, a villager recently went to the
local land office to have the mutation work of his land done, but surveyor Mizanur Rahman demanded Tk one lakh from him for the job. The victim then submitted a written compliant against the surveyor with the ACC’s Bogra zila office.
In consultation with the ACC officials, the plaintiff went to the land office on Wednesday morning again to give Mizan bribe money of Tk 4,500 as the first installment. While receiving the money, an undercover six-member ACC team led by its assistant director Md Aminul Islam caught Mizan red-handed.
Later on Wednesday, Aminul filed a case against the land surveyor with Nandigram Police Station in connection with the incident, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
